Sources edit

@BaronJaguar: do you have any sources for any of your claims, concerning the ranks of Commander in Chief, Minister of Defence and Lieutenant general? Skjoldbro (talk) 14:03, 10 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Skjoldbro: I have given examples of the use of the insignia. Up till a few years ago, there was no one appointed Rear Admiral in Guyana, yet the insignia was there when the first appointment was made. I have already explained that the ranks especially that of commander in chief and minister of defense have been used and can be used if the holders of those offices wish to. If you wish for a source, refer to page 138 of Guyana and Belize: Country Studies. E-version here. This, along with the photoc\graphs of previous officeholders using the uniforms/insignias it shows that the ranks were created and used. — Preceding unsigned comment added by BaronJaguar (talkcontribs)

Brigadier edit

@Skjoldbro: It appears that the insignia for Brigadier has reverted to the crown and three pips from the short-lived crossed baton and sword. As you can see in this page (second picture) https://newssourcegy.com/news/new-acting-chief-of-staff-takes-command-of-gdf/ Brigadier Bess is wearing the crossed baton and sword while here https://dpi.gov.gy/president-ali-announces-gdf-to-become-more-community-oriented/#jp-carousel-103813 (an event which occurred a few days ago (an where there was no change to his rank) he is wearing the crown and three pips.

I didn't want to make the switch without informing you as a matter of courtesy as I know you have done considerable work on this page. BaronJaguar (talk) 22:47, 3 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
