Are these the same thing? I really don't know.

Is this article neutral?

edit

The language used in this article doesn't seem very neutral. I didn't learn anything about this party by reading this 74.78.110.92 (talk) 17:41, 12 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Merger proposal

edit

Are MSM/MMM and Militant Socialist Movement the same movement? If so, is there any reason the pages should not be merged? Cnilep (talk) 20:57, 15 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

They are not the same. MSM/MMM was a temporary coalition of political parties. Militant Socialist Movement was one of the member parties. I've removed the merger proposal.--JKeene (talk) 01:16, 24 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

The MSM and the MMM are two parties of which the MMM is the elder one. After the election result of 60 to nill in 1982 by MMM soon political quarrel occured within the MMM and as result of this the MSM splitted off from the MMM. Later, mainly in the 2010th cooperation between them took place, due to the same roots. So it happened that by the mid of the 2010th a govermental coalition had been formed, for one periode. In general the political activities of the Mauritian citizens are very vivid. Some elder democracies could take it as examples for themself.- CH from Germany -79.212.119.218 (talk) 11:32, 1 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

What where the reason for the split in 1983? Any issues they disagreed on? Is there any ideological difference between MMM and MSM today?--Batmacumba (talk) 04:17, 1 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Political position

edit

Can a socialist party, with a name like Militant Socialist Movement, actually be "centre-left"? I would have thought that far left or left wing would have been more likely. What do we know of its actual policies?Royalcourtier (talk) 08:25, 5 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

Yes. Don't get hung up on the name, the political practice of this party is very centrist. See https://books.google.com/books?id=WRNgMjv4y9kC&pg=PA27 --Soman (talk) 09:49, 5 January 2016 (UTC)Reply
