Taxobox taxonomy

edit

Having Domain Eucaryota at the top seems an unnecessary extra, unless you think Domain should be included in all taxoboxes. Starting with Kingdom (or even some lower taxon) seems sufficient enough. I suppose the rank given Foraminifera isn't all that important as they've been ranked anywhere from order (Foramiiferida) to phylum. As for kingdom, take your pick of, yes, Protista, or the alternative Protoctista, or either Protozoa or Chromista depending on what reference grabs your fancy. And there are plenty to choose from. However, Rhizaria is an infrakingdom, with Retaria a lower rank. The kingdom, if that's your pick is Rhizareae J.H.McDonnell (talk) 18:19, 23 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

@J.H.McDonnell:This is a general encyclopedia, so the domain is important for the general readership, and the taxobox technical functionality uses the domain to categorize and color the boxes, so it is a requirement for the box. As for Forams, using the rank that the foram article itself uses, and making sure its a current peer reviewed source (not old sources from the 1990 or earlier).--Kevmin § 16:24, 26 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
