Dockyard dating from 1800 edit

There are a couple of errors in this article. Firstly, the town is usually called simply "Milford" ("Milford Haven" is the name of the estuary and harbour on which the town in located). Secondly, it is untrue that the dockyard was established by the Navy in 1797. The shipyard, already in existance for some years, was leased by the Navy Board in 1800 to complete warships building there after the shipbuilding firm of Jacobs & Son went bankrupt. It might be called Milford by the locals but serious use is Milford Haven - else we need Haverfordwest at Haford. Agathoclea (talk) 20:03, 30 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Toponymy edit

I'm not sure this section is correct. Milford Haven is referenced in Shakespeare's play Cymbeline (1611), which implies the name was in common use then, even in London. This is somewhat earlier than 1868. --Ef80 (talk) 19:51, 30 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

GA check edit

I am working my way through the Good articles listed at Places; having a quick look to see if they still meet the Good article criteria. I have reached this article. After I've had a quick look, I'll leave a note here. In general, initially I look to see if there are obvious issues: maintenance tags, unsourced sections, excessive media, etc, and if so, if this can be resolved quickly by myself. If it looks like there may be significant and/or several minor issues, I'll open a GAR to see the extent of the problems. If it looks like there are sufficient concerns to put the GA listing in jeopardy, and that significant work is needed to resolve the concerns, I will notify the main contributors to the article, and put the GAR on hold.  Y No obvious issues. Article appears to continue to meet GA criteria. SilkTork ✔Tea time 19:56, 30 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Regarding these 17 edits. I count eight edits by Alvear24 (talk · contribs) (in 24 hours 26 minutes) and seven by Gareth Griffith-Jones (talk · contribs) (in 22 hours 43 minutes). You have both made more than four reverts in less than 24 hours in clear contravention of WP:3RR: so my questions are first, why is there no discussion on this page; second, how have you both avoided being blocked - or even warned - under that policy? --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 19:19, 9 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your anticipated advice. May I ask you if you agree that the section should only include those notable persons who have either been born or raised in the town, Milford Haven? Gareth Griffith-Jones (contribs) (talk) 19:50, 9 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
My concern is mainly that the article showed up on my watchlist many times today, with the same two names alternating. Anyway, of relevance is WP:LISTBIO, and I see that Wikipedia:WikiProject Cities/Settlements: Article structure#Notable people says "names of notable people born or residing in the locality. Include only people with a Wikipedia article". --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 20:22, 9 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for your helpful contribution here – to be read in the recent history section – together with the links above provided by Redrose64, both seeming to validate my concerns about schooling and brief periods of residence.
