Possible grouping or merge

The major beer writers, such as Michael Jackson, Roger Protz, David Sutula, Charlie Papazian, Laurie Strachan and Stephen Snyder group Mild ale with other brown ales, including Belgium brown ales. I am wondering if this article should be merged with Brown ale and possibly renamed Brown ales or even Brown beers, and then detail the complex history of brown beers leading into sectioned discussion on the related beer styles such as Oud bruin/Flanders brown ale and Mild. Would be inaccurate and misleading. Not all milds are brown ales; a lot of them aren't even brown. Look around and you'll find that even the term "Oud Bruin" describes two very different things in the Netherlands and Belgium. --Stlemur 17:53, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

Notable mild ales

Although it may be pointless starting a discussion as this does not appear to be a very active wiki i will... I would like to question the section headed notable mild ales, it is very.... pithy, it is only a list and contains no information or references. i move that it be removed or updated with some information as to why these milds are more notable than any others. —Preceding unsigned comment added by UrbanAnimal (talkcontribs) 12:25, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

I've renamed the secton from "Notable mild ales" to "Examples of mild ales". Which milds are included in the list is still somewhat arbitrary, of course. Daf 07:02, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

I can get a list of all the awards Dark Ruby mild has ever won which would include more notable awards than Cambridge beer fest(not that i'm saying Cambridge beer fest isn't notable, just i'm sure it has won much more prestigious awards)as i used to work at the pub/brewery, if you like, though i'm not sure how these could be referenced, any ideas? If something's included in the list, it should be notable in the first place. Winning a major award (What's major? I don't know.) or being a top seller should both count. That said, it's easy for such a list to get overloaded with entries. As with pale ale the examples should be kept to the strongest few, I think. --Stlemur 17:56, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:BankTopMild.jpg

Image:BankTopMild.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
