Not much is known on his first wife Olga, and according to an article of 24/7 News Agency, which describes the marriage of Vera and Milan in 1962 rather in detail, Olga and Milan married in 1956. Olga is credited with having claimed that the two made a pact of silence of why the couple separated. In a book on Kundera they cite the Czech wikipedia for his first wife... @Paradise Chronicle: In the 2000s, I was in a close contact with Olga Haasová-Smrčková, the only child of the composer Pavel Haas and the first wife of Milan Kundera. I dare to say we were friends. Olga was a wonderful and modest lady. She gave me a book about her father by prof. Lubomír Peduzzi, which was my one of the main sources when I edited the article Pavel Haas here on en:wiki more than a decade ago. She was born on 1 November 1937 and she died on 11 December 2022. Her uncle was a very famous actor Hugo Haas.[1][2] Her mother was Sonia Feldmann, later married to the famous linguist Roman Jakobson. Sonia Jakobson moved to Brno with her husband in the early 1930's, Roman was then a teacher at Masaryk University. Sonia was a doctor of Haas's mother. She befriended her son, divorced Jakobson in 1935 and soon after that she married Pavel Haas. Pavel Haas died in 1944 in Auschwitz-Birkenau.
@Paradise Chronicle: Two years ago, I also briefly corresponded with Věra Kunderová, but it was more a coincidence caused by my personal research of Kundera's family background (one of the roots of Kundera's family lineage belongs to the village where I live). It was a very cordial exchange. Believe me or not - the output of my research is now a part of the Kundera's library archive (Moravian Library in Brno). My claims are mostly verifiable by independent and reliable sources (see the links above, unfortunately in Czech). Of course, something is just my personal experience and can't be used in our articles. But it's true. I can send you my research, just send me email address. But it's in Czech. Best regards. Czech and French (invited by the bot) "Czech-French" is ambiguous/ does not inform. And he has those two citizenships. This is not to rule out other options. Sincerely, North8000 (talk) 00:12, 25 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
