Letters from Trepashkin and Galina Starovoitova edit

This is probably a speculation, but it is now clear for what reason Galina Starovoitova was assassinated (see article about Litvinenko). Mikhail Trepashkin tells the following in his letters from the prison [1]. "Litvinenko and others bravely came forward to tell the truth about FSB, but nobody supported us. Where are you, democratic forces of Russia? I am sitting in the prison wrongly accussed for 4 years, and no one helps me. " (this is not translation but summary). Galina Starovoitova was a kind of person who would never let them down. She would make a huge international story of it using her personal international connections. Therefore, it was an imperative for FSB to kill her as quickly as possible. It would be important to learn what she did during last three days of her life.

Don't mean to upset anyone, but as the writer says, the above paragraph is SPECULATION !!!, and therefore falls well within WP:OR and WP:POV. Additionally, if the Russian state and its agencies are so bad, why did they not kill Trepahkin? or "dissappear" him? Back in Stalin's day there were lots of ways - "Heart attacks" (this was even the official cause of death of Stalin's wife, whose is generally thought to have shot herself), "Road accidents" etc. etc.Mariya Oktyabrskaya (talk) 03:06, 20 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yet another biased article edit

This is yet another distressing attempt by certain wikipedians to make thier opinions seem like fact. I think this article is implying that MTis a tourtured po0litical prisoner, who was jailed due to his belife in the 1999 apt. bombing conspiracy. Trepashkin about murder of Litvinenko edit

— The New Times).

dodgy dates. edit

The article says that the Moscow bombings were a trigger for the 2nd Chechen war. But the wiki page on that war says it started before the Moscow bombings.
Can both be right?

In fact, the exact wording was once edited by me, as well as other freaks. As a political freak, I can't say it's historically correct. Sorry. Try to do it better. ellol (talk) 15:07, 22 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Further Trepashkin's activities edit

Does anyone follow Trepashkin's activities after he was released? A recent news says he was to be a lawyer in the case of Yuliya Privedennaya: [4]. Is he a practicing lawyer now? ellol (talk) 15:04, 22 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Anyone got any good sources? - this article seems to be based on very little fact indeed. edit

of the five sources at the end of the article, two are from an interview with the Mr Trepashkin - hardly likely to be peer-reviewed and balanced?
And as this is the English language (!) site of Wikipedia, how about some sources more generally readable/checkable to the viewer.
I seem to remember that Mr Lenin said the control of the press was an important part of the struggle.
This article seems to be to heavy in Trepashkin/Berezovsky derived sources/links, such as sources such as 4 of the 5 sources (I'm checking the Chechen one (the 5th) out shortly), and the first of the links (although that on its website gives no indication that Mr Berezovsky is funding it, but a google search suggests that he most definitely is.
So what we seem to have is a propoganda piece riddled with unverifiable claims from Mr Trepahkin, backed up by Mr Berezovsky's financial muscle.
The only reason I don't delete the lot is that it would morally oblige me to write a better article, and I don't have the time at the momentMariya Oktyabrskaya (talk) 11:09, 17 August 2008 (UTC) How about this for a Lenin quote which seems particularly apt for this article:Reply

External links edit

There is recently seems to be an edit war about inclusion of a number of external links. Below is my opinion on the matter.

Link to the official site has to be included per Wikipedia:EL#What_to_link. Links to a piece of his prose and to a video showing his interview. Provide relevant and accurate description of how he looks like and what his writings are about but they could not be included per copyright reasons. They are valid links per WP:EL. The different appeals of human rights organizations is somehow a grey zone. I have used them as sources for the reaction of the human rights organizations. I have removed dead links that might be not valid ELs anyway Alex Bakharev (talk) 06:29, 13 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
Offliner, once again, please explain your deletions of links. Thanks, Biophys (talk) 20:32, 21 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Deletion of sourced and relevant text edit

Why did you delete this [7]?. Biophys (talk) 03:11, 28 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

It is an obsolete claim. Obviously, no such assassination attempt on Felshtinsky has been made, so the claim was either a lie or simply just wrong. Offliner (talk) 03:13, 28 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
The source tells the assassination was planned. An information about planning the assassination of a notable person is important.Biophys (talk) 03:16, 28 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
