The Plot
editThis plot is 1000% wrong. Whoever wrote it completely missed what the entire plot of the movie was. Mikey had BETRAYED Nicky and was helping him so he could REPORT TO Ned Beatty their whereabouts, so Beatty could show up and kill Nicky. That was the entire point of the movie. Nicky would say let's go here, Mikey would call the hit man to tell them where they'd be, then Nicky would change the plans. I don't have the energy to change the actual page right now, but someone should.
John Simon's article(s)
edit"This led John Simon to call the film "a celluloid death wish" in a 1976 New Yorker article."
The attached citation is for an article in New York, not The New Yorker. I'm allowing for the possibility that the New York article is Simon following up on (and mentioning) the article mentioned here in the text. Of course I may very well be wrong to do so, and maybe the text or the cite is in error. Does anyone know for certain? Harfarhs (talk) 08:00, 11 April 2022 (UTC)
