"The council's" vs. "council's"

edit

I noticed it says "He chaired council's finance committee". "Council" is a word commonly used to describe any specific council, but is it formal? It could also be confusing because it could be any council, and while reading, someone might interpolate either "a" or "for". I am pretty sure what is implied by this; I'm going to add a "the" between "chaired" and "council". -- Wuffyz (talk) 22:39, 8 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
