Trivia: Pete Murray?

Happy Ending tacked on?

Take a very close look at the last few minutes of this film. Joe seems to be very seriously hurt even before he takes the brunt of the falling wall to save the child. As he releases the kid, O'Hara's line to Jill that nobody's going to hurt Joe now occurs with Armstrong's upper body entirely out of shot. Then there's that very heavenly-looking end title "Good-bye..." from Joe. I suspect that, as is universally agreed to have been the case with the elevated train sequence in the 1933 King Kong, the office-and-home movie scene was shot, and Armstrong's line dubbed in, after the picture was initially completed--with Joe dying! Does anybody have any documentation that such was the case? Can somebody ask Ray Harryhausen? Ted Watson 20:23, 22 July 2007 (UTC)

Strong man

I used to think that myself, and assuming that the live-action part of that scene was filmed before O'Brien, Harryhausen, and company spent nearly three yerars working on the effects, it just could have been Hatton, who died February 2, 1946. However, the Swedish Angel, as Max O'Hara (Robert Armstrong) introduces him to the nightclub (and film) audience, was indeed the professional wrestling pseudonym of Phil Olafsson (his IMDb entry), like Hatton an acromegaly sufferer, and whose appearance was deformed in a very similar manner. The IMDb credits him with the (uncredited on-screen) appearance. --Ted Watson (talk) 21:34, 27 November 2008 (UTC)

Olafsson is not Rondo Hatton; nor is he Tor Johnson, an actor in the Ed Wood movies and also a wrestler known as "Super Swedish Angel." WHPratt (talk) 03:01, 30 September 2014 (UTC)

Uncredited Lead Actress?

I notice both in the poster and in wiki panel, the actress playing Jill Young (Lora Lee Michel) is not credited.. Wonder why?
