Prickly Pear Island snailMicrarionta opuntia – The most common name for this taxon. Multiple vernacular names are used with varying spaces and hyphens. Also often referred to without a vernacular name at all. Current title is also improperly capitalized. — Hyperik talk 13:09, 31 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

  • Move - not from Prickly Pear Island, but eats prickly-pear which is why there is hyphenation chaos. Don’t see any hits on scholar for the vernacular. --awkwafaba (📥) 16:32, 1 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • Support. The scientific name is most commonly used in reliable sources. Snails are more CONSISTENTly and PRECISEly named by scientific name, not vernacular names. Plantdrew (talk) 04:25, 8 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
