Death

The Andrew Malcolm of the LA Times reported on Twitter that she has died. [1] So far, I can't find any confirmation of this. --GentlemanGhost (talk) 21:36, 30 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

And now I've got one - http://www.mercurynews.com/news/ci_13679075. --GentlemanGhost (talk) 21:48, 30 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Why does this article begin with the word "Incorrect"? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.20.26.160 (talk) 05:25, 23 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hope this is the right place to put this question- wiki has her as Michelle Triola redirected from Michelle Triola Marvin. In fact she is legally the latter, see http://www.latimes.com/news/obituaries/la-me-michelle-triola-marvin31-2009oct31,0,2805574.story Should her entry not be under her legal name? That's a good point. Even the court case was called Marvin vs. Marvin. For good measure, I think I'll check with WikiProject Biography. --GentlemanGhost (talk) 22:27, 2 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
At least one other editor agrees. We can probably make a request at WP:Requested moves without controversy. --GentlemanGhost (talk) 19:36, 3 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
Did she drop Marvin from her name later in life? Lkjhgfdsa 0 (talk) 12:24, 7 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
Not that I've read in any of the obituaries (although that could just be an omission). They all seem to use the name "Michelle Triola Marvin". The only ref/external link which doesn't is the IMDB link. --GentlemanGhost (talk) 21:38, 9 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
I've gone ahead and moved the article to Michelle Triola Marvin. The best evidence that I can find indicates that this was still her legal name at her time of death. If someone objects, though, we can always move it back. --GentlemanGhost (talk) 01:21, 17 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Michelle Triola

edit

I noticed on Dick Van Dyke's bio, Michelle is mentioned as his "partner" for Michelle Triola (1976–2009, her death).

He did not get divorced from his wife, Margie Willett (1948–1984, divorced), until 1984..... the five years before his divorce he was with Michelle? Or, did he put his divorce on hold for five years?. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mjmjammer (talkcontribs) 23:43, 14 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

his article says they were "long separated prior to the divorce."
84-76 = 8, btw, not 5! 209.172.23.143 (talk) 07:04, 11 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Would anyone agree that the main reason her divorce from Lee Marvin is notable, aside from the legal precedent, is that it was the subject of a famous SNL sketch with Dan Aykroyd and Jane Curtain (The "Jane you ignorant slut" sketch)? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Walterego (talkcontribs) 11:16, 2 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

which sketch? the "Jane you ignorant slut" thing was a recurring feature on weekend update. are u saying that ONE of them dealt with the case? you're not saying the VERY FIRST ONE did, are u? 209.172.23.143 (talk) 06:47, 11 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
