  • Proposed Deletion Subject is clearly not a notable political figure - fails Wikipedia policy for notability for politician which determine that only those politicians "who have held international, national or statewide/provincewide office, and members and former members of a national, state or provincial legislatures." or are "(m)ajor local political figures who have received significant press coverage" are notable. I'm sorry, I know RESPECT are proud of their first councilor but Lavalette isn't notable. Bigdaddy1981 03:33, 10 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Received 37 % of vote, which is a respectable showing, and if referenced, would probably pass AfDDGG 16:24, 10 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

"Martin Smith given PhD place at Liverpool Hope University". libcom.org. 21 October 2013. Retrieved 3 July 2024.

Martin Smith – who resigned from the Socialist Workers Party following rape and sexual harassment allegations – is now based in the Social Work department at Liverpool Hope University... SWP academic and Preston councillor Michael Lavalette... is head of the Social Work, Youth and Justice Department at Hope University, and clearly thought he could help this ‘poor victim of creeping feminism’ out
