- Nothing here is particularly surprising, hookworthy, or interesting to a broad audience. Not all articles are fit for dyk. (t · c) buidhe 09:37, 3 November 2023 (UTC)
- @Buidhe: Would a hook about him being called "one of the best clarinettists walking the planet" work, or not? Is this meant to be a hard rejection of the article? Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 10:48, 3 November 2023 (UTC)
- That would be an improvement at least. I did not perform a full review. (t · c) buidhe 10:55, 3 November 2023 (UTC)
- I'm fine with that. Mock up below:
- ALT2 ... that Michael Collins has been called "one of the best clarinettists walking the planet" by The Times?
- Would that work @Narutolovehinata5? Schminnte [talk to me] 11:26, 3 November 2023 (UTC)
- Hi @Buidhe: sorry you feel that way. Would something more wordplay focused like this work? Schminnte [talk to me] 10:59, 3 November 2023 (UTC)
ALT1 ... that Michael Collins gave premiere performances of Gnarly Buttons and Riffs and Refrains? https://www.allmusic.com/artist/michael-collins-mn0001661330#biography and https://www.gsmd.ac.uk/staff/michael-collins
- I suppose ALT2 works; I'm not really too fond of ALT1 as I think the alliteration may not be too obvious. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 11:39, 3 November 2023 (UTC)
- I'm fine with ALT2 if you are. The quote is clearly attributed and backed up by other quotes in the article. I'm usually quite cautious about calling people "one of the best" but seeing as this is backed up in multiple RS it should be fine. Schminnte [talk to me] 11:44, 3 November 2023 (UTC)
- Yes, I'd be fine with ALT2. Not really a fan of ALT1 (though actually, the order is wrong: the Times hook should be labeled ALT1 and the Riffs hook ALT2 since numbering should be chronological). Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 13:15, 6 November 2023 (UTC)
- I'm not sure what you mean: I proposed what I've labelled ALT1 in this edit, which was before I added the mock up of ALT2. I think this is right chronologically? Schminnte [talk to me] 15:57, 6 November 2023 (UTC)
- Oh never mind, I was misreading the discussion! The lack of timestamps had confused me since ALT2 is mentioned before ALT1 and from what I remembered they were proposed minutes apart. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 00:56, 7 November 2023 (UTC)
