Mexican Federal Highway 1D http://westcoastroads.com/baja_california/images/mex-1d_scene.jpg The Mexican Federal Highway 1D runs from Tijuana to Ensenada passing by the municipality of Rosarito and other beach communities. Along

reverted changes

After reviewing a number of pages on roads in Mexico particularly the Federal Highway corridors and the State routes things start to get a bit confusing because a US system is being imposed on tht of the country of Mexico which has some basic nuances that make some of its terminology different than what we use in the US. As for intrupting formatting well that very well may be an indication that a US style is being omposed on the corridors of Mexico and what the article(s) should reflect is that of the country, in this case Mexico. All portions of the Federal system are clearly initially ID'd as Fed for Federal. There is no other designation for federal level roadage. The next level are the State highways that again have particular styles--the approved initials of each state or state-like entity. Then if all goes well the lower roadgae entities can be systemized according to what Mexico does. I do believe that the article heading is wrong as it is Mexico's federal Highways and corridors not Mexican Federal Highways. Mexico's federal roadage is by corridors. Someone had the ordacity to mention that "Mexican" should be used because that position in our sentence structure calls for that category of word there. Well, it's not out object that we are describing. It is what it is in Mexico, the country of origin. It gets to be rather upsetting when people from another country want to establish ownership over an institution of another place by descrbing it in terms of US example and structure. It is not US and should not be descrbed as such except in the contect of the country of origin. Colonialism has long been established as a rather unfortunate experience with various people. WP should avoid the incidence. This may not be so readily understood by some but that just goes to show how ingrain problems can be when people do not realize just what are the implications of what they want to do. There is nearly as much assumption as there is text here. Thank you for being gracious enough to "be willing to look... to understand," by the way. Generally speaking, the process on Wikipedia is to be bold in making a change, if you are reverted, you then discuss. In the future, being bold in making a change, then being reverted, then reverting yourself might be seen as part of an edit war (or may cause one). Fed 1D is an odd name to use in either language. I lived in Baja for part of my life and most call it "la carerra (costal)" or some variant. Highway seems like a good English word to use as a common referent, but we can leave Fed 1D for the most part if you'd like.

:Mexican means: Of, from, or pertaining to Mexico.

WikiProject Highway is made up of people from all over the word. The assumption that only "colonizers" (as you imply) are editing these articles is indecent at best. Killiondude (talk) 05:31, 16 January 2018 (UTC)

Exit List
