Methylating lipids?
editThe article claims that the toxicity of methyl fluorosulfonate is due to the methylation of lipids in cell membranes. This seems unlikely to me, as most lipids lack nucleophilic groups. I would suspect methyl fluorosulfonate likely alkylates and denatures the membrane proteins instead. Since I can't get access to reference 1, I would suggest removing this bit of speculation. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 141.189.251.1 (talk) 21:00, 6 December 2016 (UTC)
