Getting started

This article is in pretty good shape to start - needs some extensive revision and dicussion on the possible production centers, as well as an update in regards to the reference material out there - Hosler is perhaps the person who works on this topic, and her long publication list could certainly be integrated here. I'm dubious about the Maya area has a production loci - I've always viewed it as a consumption area (i.e., the trade for and use metal objects, but did not produce them) - but if Hosler or Pendergast mention it as "possible" production location, then its warranted in its inclusion.

Anyway, there's a slew of wikilinking that needs to be done, and since that's the easiest thing to do, I'll start off with that and leave the content alone for now. Peace -- Oaxaca dan 16:33, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

no iron metalurgy in pre columbian america?
