I have no information on it but I do believe there was a D&D rule book that contained the platinum dragon. Needs specs.

Also it would be good to have expanded information on the dragons such as which rule book or expanded rule book they are shown in (or if multiple all of the books they appear in)

These entries are literally word for word entries from the book A Practical Guide to Dragons. I'm not sure if thats allowed, but I don't think it is.
