Distance between Mendoza and Santiago

Here it says it's 183 Km not over 300. Also Medoza is on the eastern slope of the andes not the western slope, oooooops.

I can assure you that the distance Mendoza-Santiago de Chile is close to 380 km and that it takes about 8 hours by bus, including ½ to 1 hours in inmigración and duana - I live in Mendoza and has been living in Valparaíso. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 200.112.141.92 (talk) 08:22, 8 May 2009 (UTC)

According to google maps the distance from Mendoza, Argentina to Plaza de Armas, Provincia de Santiago, Chile in the center of Santiago is 381 km John.St (talk) 10:07, 17 September 2011 (UTC)

Climate

Does anyone has information about the snow in Mendoza?, this winter snowed for 5 times, but i don't know the general statistics. Thanks --Vokoder 16:13, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

I live in Mendoza and can inform you that snow is extremely rare - most of the children who experienced snow in 2007 have never seen snow before, except in the mountains. 200.112.141.92 (talk) 08:25, 8 May 2009 (UTC)

Mendoza capital had 2 days of snow in 2007, none in 2008, 1 in 2009, 3 in 2010 when snowdolls (muñecas de nieve) were made and admired, and ½ a day in 2011, each time approximately 2 cm (¾ of an inch). John.St (talk) 12:53, 27 September 2011 (UTC)

Twin cities

Ramat Gan is the only City that features Mendoza as a Twin city. The other seven cities does not mention Mendoza as a Twin City, so a citation is needed. Unfortunately, I do not have it.200.80.52.184 15:09, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

Population

Article says: "As of the 2001 census [INDEC], Mendoza's population was 110,993. The metropolitan population was 848,660 in 2001, making Greater Mendoza the fourth largest census metropolitan area in the country." How can 110,993 be correct if 848,660 is correct? Is it possible that 110,993 should be 1 million, plus? Your sentence doesn't make sense. Thanks. 99.146.0.34 (talk) 17:46, 3 June 2011 (UTC)

The first figure is presumably for the inner city. the latter includes outlying suburbs and possibly satellite towns, which may be controlled by different local authorities (eg Godoy Cruz, Mendoza). Most cities in the world have different populations for their core/local body area and their metropolitan area.-gadfium 21:57, 3 June 2011 (UTC)

The five squares

The five lovely squares in Mendoza really deserve a mention, especially the central one (Independenza) and Plaza Italia, with the amazing fountain depicting Francesca da Rimini in Dante Aligheri's Inferno.
