editWhy are these horizontal? They would be much easier to read if they didn't scroll beyond the right side of the page... Chadlupkes 00:31, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
- Um, vertical charts would also scroll beyond the right side of the page. There's a lot of legislators and a lot of sessions. OCNative (talk) 01:49, 26 December 2008 (UTC)

Hard to read and takes forever to load . . .
edit. . . also it crashed my browser. Why not divide into the two houses, one article for each? There are dozens of early legislators left out. Really, this chart does nobody any favors. Your friend, GeorgeLouis (talk) 00:16, 23 May 2011 (UTC)

History? What came before these lists?
editThese lists are not marked as incomplete, but I can't find any indication of what preceded them. According to this page, the California State Senate started in 1905, and the California State Assembly started in 1969. The relevant articles only say that the State Senate existed before 1967 and the Assembly seems to have no history prior to 1997 other than this list which shows it started in 1969. I'm not sure if I am highlighting a failure of California editors to provide appropriate cross-links to articles I didn't find, there are huge holes in the history of this legislature, or if there was something different in the early years of California. Could someone who knows (or knows how to find the right references) please write a few paragraphs to explain how things fitted into history? I came here as a consequence of trying to sort out the entries in disambiguation page John Cain and noticed that one of the Californians does not have birth or death dates, time in the legislature, nor any inbound links from lists of members. John Edward Cain does not say what district he served, so I assume there was something other than districts then? Thank you. --Scott Davis Talk 10:44, 21 January 2019 (UTC)
