I'd like to go ahead and merge this to Shanda Sharer murder case. WP:BLP1E calls for writing about the event, not the person, in cases where there's just one event that lead to all the media coverage... and common sense calls for that, too. Why spread the details over 5 articles on each girl, rather than concentrate one one article that can cover it all? A mistake was recently fixed and the anon was diligent enough to fix both articles, but that won't always be the case. --W.marsh 15:00, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
- I have no problem with a merge, as long as the article history is preserved. That way a reader can get the full treatment on the case from the point of view of each participant. (Okay, they have to be a little sophisticated in the ways of Wikipedia, but readers catch on pretty quick to article histories, including those behind redirects.) There was an effort at a merge which I reverted because there was no prior discussion on the talk page. But I don't object to the idea itself of a merge with all the article histories kept. - I can do a history merge, sure, and all five names will redirect to the central article. Ultimately there's still a lot of work to do at Shanda Sharer murder case but I am committed to including information from both books, the newspaper articles, and whatever else in time. --W.marsh 16:09, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
