Kiev is not in Russia edit

And will never be. There is nothing to discuss. 92.244.122.2 (talk) 17:46, 4 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

I agree. The subject is described as Ukrainian in 3 of the cited sources (1, 2, 3) and is described as Russian exactly nowhere that I can find. Per basic policy (WP:V, WP:RS) this is not an ambiguous situation. - Astrophobe (talk) 19:53, 4 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
I also agree, but the guy in question lived when it was, a plain historical fact.Axxxion (talk) 02:26, 22 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
Wikipedia reflects what is written in reliable sources. The page subject is identified as Ukrainian in every source that discusses his nationality and he is identified as Russian in no source that I can find. - Astrophobe (talk) 02:56, 22 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
I am afraid we do not have any truly RS on the subject. But then we do not need it as the fact that Kiev was then in Russia is universally known. I agree to drop "Russian" in the lede as it is ambiguous when talking of writers as the main point is what language he wrote in, which was Yiddish.Axxxion (talk) 16:21, 22 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Looks like this was not a consensus at all, but the appearance of one through tendentious sockpuppetry. I'm restoring the page from before this. - Astrophobe (talk) 14:40, 30 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Is this the same person as Meteb Blinkin? edit

I am working on the writings of Yiddish authors in Wikisource and was wondering if this is the same person as Meteb Blinkin?— Ineuw talk 21:10, 25 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
