Nationality Issues-Lead Section.

edit
Kohlrabi Pickle, TheAafi, Fences and windows, need to discuss regarding the revision made to my edit by TheAafi, the nationality should be indian not kashmiri i guess. kindly correct me if i am wrong. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hums4r (talkcontribs)
please let it be as it has been until we don't reach a consensus on Talk:Zeyan Shafiq#Lead section: "Indian" or "Kashmiri". Thank you. ─ The Aafī on Mobile (talk) 12:40, 16 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
Also this is not nationality mentioned in the lede, rather ethnicity, "Kashmiri". ─ The Aafī on Mobile (talk) 12:42, 16 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
Hello TheAafi (and other editors). In this instance I think Hums4r has a point under WP:ETHNICITY. I know there is some residual friction on the Kashmir/India front, but without any community consensus on the matter, I assume we stick to nationality in the lead? Her Kashmiri background can be mentioned in the infobox and in the main body. We could alternatively do what we did at Zeyan Shafiq: "Mehvish Mushtaq is an Indian entrepreneur and app developer from Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir". Barring the most adamantly held opinions, that should make everyone happy. Kohlrabi Pickle (talk) 16:46, 16 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
My friend Kohlrabi Pickle, since this change involves a number of Kashmir-related biographical articles, I'd rather feel better in getting a RfC initiated where we'll get wider opinions from the community, that where Kashmiri should be used, and where not, based on the consequences. But if we change it per Zeyan Shafiq, still the mode of notability of the two is different. Let me get some spare time and I'll review the sources related to Mehvish. Regards, ─ The Aafī on Mobile (talk) 12:36, 17 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
TheAafi I think that is an excellent idea. Shall we leave both the Zeyan and Mehvish articles as they are, pending the RfC? One of them will have to change either way depending on the outcome. Kohlrabi Pickle (talk) 13:09, 17 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
Kohlrabi Pickle, let the both remain as they're; until we get the outcome of RfC. ─ The Aafī on Mobile (talk) 13:12, 17 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
Sounds good, TheAafi. We should have the RfC done soon, ideally when you have some time. Perhaps within the next week or two. Kohlrabi Pickle (talk) 13:15, 17 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
