Perseus with the head of Medusa edit

The following sentence seems to imply that the Medusa Rondanini itself was incorporated into the Canova statue:

"When Antonio Canova made a marble Perseus with the Head of Medusa (1798-1801), to take the place of the Apollo Belvedere sent to Napoleonic Paris, it was the Medusa Rondanini that served for the gorgon's head in Perseus' outstretched hand."

Presumably, the actual intent was that the head in Perseus' hand was modeled after the Medusa Rondanini, but I can't be sure. Lusanaherandraton (talk) 11:41, 11 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

They look too different. Another contradiction, the height does not fit the image description on Commons (29cm vs 40cm). -- *«( P E R H E L I O N )»* 19:59, 30 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
