How It Got It's Name edit

Mechanicsville, Virginia is home to the annual Hanover Tomato Festival. This festival is located at Pole Green Park and hosts vendors from all over the state. Events include the Hanover Tomato contest, Best Dressed Tomato contest, Little Miss/Tiny Miss Hanover Tomato pageant, Hanover Tomato Coloring contest and a Papa John’s Pizza contest. Entertainment is provided throughout the day in the form of acoustic bands, concert bands and local entertainers. There is a hugely popular children’s area that includes rides, activities and a petting zoo. The festival also includes exhibits on the history of the Hanover tomato.
