This is the talk page for Measure of Music (conference)

Facts and sources

edit

@Copeland.powell: The fact that Christine Osazuwa is the founder of MoM is substantiated by two links. I have checked the first one (the very first in-text citation in the article), and did not find any mention of MoM at all. The second link is to an hour-long recording of some broadcasting. Thus, two questions:

  1. Am I wrong that the first source does not contain the information?
  2. Can you help me with finding a location in the record that substantiates the information claimed?

Thank you in advance! Викидим (talk) 03:33, 25 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi @Викидим: – thanks for your feedback. I will make some edits this afternoon to the article, reorganizing the references and prioritizing the ones that position MoM more prominently. Would that help? This is meant to be a stub article, so I hope that the community can help build upon it, since it is a well-known conference in the international music industry. There are two completely separate topics of discussion related to this article. (1) The WP:GNG is straightforward, see also WP:SIGCOV ("well-known" assurance is not sufficient). (2) There are two particular questions that I have asked above. Could you please provide answers to these? Викидим (talk) 17:51, 29 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hi @Викидим, I removed all references from the article and republished only the strongest that were MoM focused, weren't passive mentions, and were also independent of the subject. You're right, the original opening references were poorly positioned, so thanks for your suggestion to reconsider using them. Copeland.powell (talk) 10:46, 2 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Addressing Proposed Deletion & Notability

edit

Hi, thanks for your review and suggestions to avoid deletion. I deleted all of the references originally used and re-published only the strongest that were MoM focused, weren't passive mentions, and were independent of the subject. I also sourced new references from universities, institutions, and entertainment industry corporate publications that provide reliable and significant coverage of MoM. In doing this, I've removed the "proposed for deletion" banner and endorsement. I've also removed the "notability" banner, since that issues has now been addressed.

Since this contribution is meant to be a stub article, I invite the community to continue to provide feedback and help improve the article, since it is indeed a well-attended international conference entering into its fifth year of existence. Copeland.powell (talk) 10:58, 2 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
