Trivia edit

It says only Danova and De Niro are Italian. But aren't David Proval and Richard Romanus also Italian? Italian-Americans are actually the majority in the main cast, Harvey Keitel and Amy Robinson being the only exceptions.

I have deleted this trivia item. In fact, four of the six main characters are played by Italian or Italian-American actors. Emile 20:06, 2 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
David Proval is actually Jewish. See his Wiki article. Quadzilla99 06:35, 4 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Romanus is Lebanese or something. 173.66.234.111 (talk) 17:19, 5 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Peter Hayden's erstwhile assistant, Stuart Evans Llansadwrn writes, " The film was not well-received generally in Europe but Peter Hayden believed in it. No doubt introduced to its merits by his close friend Van Morrison - who was to appear with The Band in 'The Last Waltz'. In fact Peter also appears in that film. Peter went to enormous lengths to force the hand of journalists in the UK at least, to reconsider their original reviews. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.196.109.76 (talk) 01:59, 23 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Peter Hayden paragraph; Trivia edit

The paragraph about Peter Hayden needs to be made neutral POV and cite some backup sources -- and then be moved out of the Trivia section to "Distribution" or "UK Distribution," somewhere rather than just tacked on at the bottom of "Trivia."

All the trivia bits need to be incorporated into the main article -- with citations other than IMBd, maybe? -- or removed. LaNaranja (talk) 08:02, 3 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Why I removed the Trivia section edit

Removed Trivia section. The only bulleted item that seemed at all necessary to include was the claim about FF Coppola, but it's lifted directly from IMDb, where no source is cited for it. I looked for a source online and found this, in which FFC mentions Scorsese and directing a GF sequel. But what Coppola is quoted as saying -- in what appears to be just a random collection of quotes -- doesnt indicate at all that FFC suggested Scorsese direct because he was impressed with Mean Streets, or even that he seriously was suggesting Scorsese, or even whether it was for GFII or III.

So... unless someone cites a source in which FFC unequivocally states that it was his admiration for MS's directorial ability as demonstrated by Mean Streets that led him to suggest that Scorsese direct a GF sequel, I think this bit should stay removed.

The paragraph about Peter Hayden needs to be cleaned up as noted above. —Preceding unsigned comment added by LaNaranja (talkcontribs) 23:14, 9 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

"The three survive..."? edit

Johnny Boy did not survive. Scorsese graphically shows him hemorrhaging from a neck wound, then stumbling off and collapsing. Also, since the film is the story of Johnny Boy's tragic demise, what sense would it make for him to survive?69.209.193.198 (talk) 00:20, 30 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Yes, he is shown hemorrhaging from a neck wound, but he is never shown dead. He's still moving in his last screen shot. It might be more reasonable to conclude that we don't know if he survives or not. Anything more definitive either way would probably be OR. 99.192.62.205 (talk) 15:51, 17 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
I believe Scorcese said he lived. 2603:6080:5D00:2562:885B:988F:57A0:8E40 (talk) 23:42, 6 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Jimmy Shorts = Lenny Scaletta? edit

Hi, the movie credits list a Lenny Scaletta as 'Jimmy', while IMDB gives Scorsese the role under "Scorsese" and Scarletta under "Scarletta". Anybody know if this is an alias for Scorsese, or an error? T 85.166.162.64 (talk) 17:51, 11 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

Plot section is too short edit

The plot section is too short and poorly describes the synopsis of the film. 2603:6080:5D00:2562:32FC:EBFF:FE13:87D8 (talk) 23:38, 14 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
