Heart Of The Fox
editI phoned the City of Mchenry at 815-363-2100 to discuss the phrase "The Heart Of The Fox", which appears on their water tower and on their website. I asked if it's a motto, slogan, nickname, etc, in order to give it the right designation in the Geobox I was told it's a "Motto". But to me, a motto is a phrase which carries some action or attitude. This phrase sounds more like a "description". I know this may seem ultra-detailed, but this is an encylopedia, which is all about excruciating detail. I designated it as "Nickname" for the time being. Please offer thoughts and opinions on this matter. Cosmo1976 18:10, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
Minor Edits
editGreetings! I was reading through this article and did a few minor edits. I removed the "Fox River" section, since it only contained one sentence, which I bumped up to geography. I personally don't understand why "McHenry lies within the watershed of the Fox River, and its downtown area is situated on that river." needs a citation, and considered removing the note (what would I cite, a map?), but I'll leave that for another edit. I also considered deleting the "Major Streets" section, since that seems like nothing more than a page-filler, but I don't look at wikipedia articles for cities very often so that might be fairly standard and I'm just unaware. I also bumped Rob Doran out of the references, and made his name link to his page. Ittan (talk) 18:05, 22 June 2013 (UTC)

- It works, but I'm not so sure how useful it is. --1990'sguy (talk) 16:00, 15 August 2016 (UTC)
Indian fighter?
editI noticed that Mr. McHenry is described as an "Indian fighter." Checking out his article that's accurate enough, but is it the expression we want to use? PopSci (talk) 02:54, 7 November 2018 (UTC)
- I'm not one to follow the PC rulebook, but to me it looks like a slam dunk to take that out and insert the actual description from the source. It's more informative and the characterization "Indian fighter" was not in the source. North8000 (talk) 13:06, 7 November 2018 (UTC)
- I changed it. North8000 (talk) 13:12, 7 November 2018 (UTC)
