Hello Fram!

While I am not new to Wikipedia, I am not an expert in being an editor and the Wikipedia policies, rules, and guidelines that accompany such.

I did briefly review articles about deletion and the article about notability and understand conceptually the purposes of those.

Mayor Max I was my dog, as is Mayor Max II.

Objectively, Mayor Max II is fully notable. He has been the Mayor for nine years, has friends around the world, has over 100,000 followers on social media, has appeared on television news stories (both in studio and on location) multiple times and in multiple countries, and has appeared on "The Kelly Clarkson Show" and "To Tell the Truth".

However, Mayor Max I was Mayor for only nine months before dying. While his fame was taking off, it did not launch to the heights Mayor Max II has experienced. As such, also objectively, Mayor Max I is definitely less notable, and I find it satisfactory to delete it. His mention in the Mayor Max II article and on his website is sufficient.

You have redirected the Mayor Max I article to Mayor Max II, and have nominated it for deletion. In what circumstances is each practice advised?

I appreciate your work on Wikipedia. Such people help create a supreme data source for the world.

Thank you.
