A typical distribution in statystical mechanics (say velocity in direction x) is exponential p(v)~exp(-Kv) that makes the maximal term proportional to logarithm of M, not the exponent of M.
At any rate we need a rigorus formulation of the theorem. abakharev 05:40, 13 February 2006 (UTC)
