In response to my previous submission a year ago, I added links to two full review articles of Sonin's 2022 novels. They were published in Gorky.Media, a major (perhaps the major) Russian literary journal.
The first review (https://gorky.media/reviews/kvir-v-posudnoj-lavke/) was written by Eduard Lukoyanov, a well-known literary critic and an editor of the journal, in 2022. The article focuses exclusively on Sonin's novel "The Elephant Steps". As I read, the review is somewhat critical of the novel but it definitely emphasizes the need for more such books.
The second review (https://gorky.media/reviews/nedetskij-detektiv/), which appeared in October 2023, covers three crime novels by Mr. Sonin, but focuses exclusively on them. (A year ago, the main concern with my submission was that the reviews mentioned in the article have not exclusively focused on Mr. Sonin's works.)
Gorky.Media is a major Russian literature magazine. After the start of the war in Ukraine, many literary magazines were closed, so by now it is the main venue in which Russian books are being reviewed.
I thought that the guidelines stipulate exactly this kind of "published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject". I also added some links to media mentions of Sonin's book (since his first novel has become sort of an obsession in the anti-LGBTQ+ circles), but the main improvement I thought was the two full reviews described above.
Thank you for your consideration. Cyclik (talk) 14:56, 8 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
