Xuanyuan does not mean "Mysterious Origin" edit

As the first line of the Shiji clearly states, Xuanyuan 軒轅/轩辕 was the Yellow Emperor's personal name: "The Yellow Emperor was the son of Shaodian. His surname was Gongsun, his name Xuanyuan." (黃帝者,少典之子,姓公孫,名曰軒轅。) That term should not be translated, or it should be paraphrased as "the Yellow Emperor." Madalibi (talk) 00:47, 23 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

It would be worthwhile to search for other articles where this needs to be corrected.ch (talk) 02:12, 23 September 2016 (UTC)Reply
Hi ch. Good point! I just corrected the same problem in Yellow Emperor, Xuanyuan teaching, Wufang Shangdi, Yan Huang Zisun, and Chinese theology. Feel free to let me know if you find other instances of this. Cheers, Madalibi (talk) 02:28, 23 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

It might be worth pointing out that xuanyuan 玄元 ("Mysterious Origin") was a title given to Laozi in "religious Taoism", but that the homophonous Xuanyuan 軒轅 is written with different characters, which do not mean "Mysterious Origin", but literally something like "chariot axle".
