    No edit wars etc.
  6. It is illustrated by images, where possible and appropriate.
a (images are tagged and non-free images have fair use rationales):   b (appropriate use with suitable captions):
  • "Three pilgrimage journeys to the Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi is equal to making the Hajj." is a POV, it may not be a world Muslim belief too, but only unique to Turkestan or Kazakhstan. Check
  • An image of the Khoja would be a nice addition. (Not necessary for GA)
  1. Overall:
    Pass/Fail:
  • The religious structure continues to draw pilgrims from across "the region". The region means: Kazakhstan? Central Asia? what
  • According to the wikipedia, Moslem may be considered an offensive term. Replace it throughout by Muslim
  • "the mausoleum was closed to the devotees who came to pay homage to Yasawi" in the year? Was it ever opened to the public again? Is it open now?
  • "the largest existing brick dome in Central Asia" gives the expression that it is largest dome made of brick, another dome of say stone may be bigger. Is the largest existing dome in Central Asia also? clarify. If necessary, reword this and the concerned image caption
  • "Indeed, the mausoleum’s main dome remains the largest existing brick dome in Central Asia." No need of repeating the fact again
  • Ref 22: History.com does not mention Yasawi's tomb (I was searching for the words Khoja Ahmed Yasawi, if it is called by another name in the source, point it), still "This and the Timurids’ general patronage of the arts have made them the greatest patrons of Iranian culture." gives the impression that the mausoleum’s construction was a strong reason for this. A case of WP:OR
  • If alternate spellings of the mausoleum exist, note them
  • "The birth of Timurid Architecture" drifts too much from the central topic. Distinction between legacy of Timurid Architecture and Timur the builder; and that of the mausoleum needs to done. [1] does not even mention it. A tomb in the Shah-i-Zinda complex (1360) was built before Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi (1389). Could the mausoleum be credited as The birth of Timurid Architecture. Possible WP:OR.
  • [2] does not mention the mausoleum. Its talk about "glazed tiles, mosaics, patterned brickwork, and Islamic calligraphy" in general, NOT particular to the mausoleum.
  • "Perceived as one of the greatest mausoleums of the Islamic world" By whom?
  • "It is said that three pilgrimages to the mausoleum can pass on as making the Hajj to Mecca." Same as img caption comment
  • "Indeed, the mausoleum’s importance to the town is attested by Turkestan’s former name, Hazrat-e Turkestan, which literally means “Saint of Turkestan,”" WP:OR. Source does not explicitly say it
  • "The continuance of the Kazakh nation and Central Asian Islamic faith in modern times are testaments to the historical and cultural importance of Turkestan, with the Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi at its center." Not in reference. WP:OR
  • http://www.indiapicks.com/Heritage/Humayun/Humayun-E-Humayun_Tomb.htm does not credit the mausoleum for its inspiration. It credits other Timurid structures. From the disclaimer of the site, the reliability of the site is questionable. See WP:reliable sources
  • Questionable reliability of following sources:
  • In references, p. should used for 1 page "p. 12", pp. for multiple pages "pp.12-7"
  • Some references (eg. 5, 6 etc.) do not have any information about date, publisher, author. Please fill them--Redtigerxyz Talk 14:37, 5 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

My first impression by the look of the article, this can be a GA, but there are issues that need to be addressed. Primary reasons of failing:

  • Unreliable References, thus unreliable information provided by them which needs to removed or resourced
  • WP:OR: Reread of references and rewrite of the concerned sentences needed
  • Rewrite of Legacy needed so that "the article stays focused on the topic without going into unnecessary detail" Differentiate between the legacy of the Timurid architecture and that of the mausoleum.

With good work, this article will definitely become a GA. All the best with the improvement. --Redtigerxyz Talk 14:47, 5 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
