When did Maurice Ward die? Research initially resulted in a vague '2011' but I found a more precise date which was May 25. Could anyone corroborate this?

Note: In June of 2011 a contemporary of Maurice's said that he passed away 'a few months ago.' Either this was erroneous or the May 25 date is incorrect. More details are needed about the life of this extraordinary man.
