Pitcher of the Week
editHi I'm new here but, it says he is pitcher of the week in his award box. Can somebody tell me when? Thanks Chezrush (talk) 02:10, 3 May 2013 (UTC)
No hitter through 6 2/3 Innings
editThat was 6 2/3 Innings when Matt Harvey had not allowed a hit until the Justin Morneau home run and it occurred in the bottom of the seventh. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.237.34.211 (talk) 21:12, 8 May 2013 (UTC)

Matt Harvey (baseball) → Matt Harvey –
- Support: The baseball player is the most well known out of all the other Matt Harveys. Also, his Wikipedia page is the longest out of all the others. Richiekim (talk) 12:37, 22 July 2013 (UTC) Richiekim (talk) 12:37, 22 July 2013 (UTC)
- Oppose: I don't think moving this article is a good idea. As per WP:DISAMBIG, which says that "a reader who searches for a topic using a particular term can get to the information on that topic quickly and easily, whichever of the possible topics it might be". This is best achieved using a disambiguation page. Just because the baseball player Matt Harvey is the most well known doesn't necessarily mean readers will generally be looking for that Matt Harvey. For example, I live in the United Kingdom and have never heard of Matt Harvey the baseball player but I have heard of Matt Harvey the English performance poet so I would be more likely to be looking for that article. --teb00007 Talk • Contributions 12:50, 22 July 2013 (UTC)
- A Google search of Matt Harvey overwhelmingly lists the baseball player above all others. Also, I was planning on adding a header at the top of his page to lead to the disambiguation page. Richiekim (talk) 13:15, 22 July 2013 (UTC)
- Oppose – the target page name should go to the valid disambig page. No compelling primarytopic claim case has been made. Dicklyon (talk) 00:41, 23 July 2013 (UTC)
- Comment the nominator moved the disambiguation page Matt Harvey (disambiguation) prior to opening this request, so this is in effect, a multimove, and if it fails, the disambiguation page should be restored to its former location at Matt Harvey (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) -- 76.65.128.222 (talk) 02:36, 23 July 2013 (UTC)

– I believe that Matt Harvey (baseball) is the clear WP:PRIMARYTOPIC for Matt Harvey. That article has been viewed 5826 times in the past 30 days, which is 93.6% of the views amongst the four Matt Harveys with articles – nearly 15 times as many as the three other Matt Harveys combined, and over 30 times as many as the second-most viewed Matt Harvey. Even the disambiguation page Matt Harvey has nearly as many views (only 9 fewer) as the other three Matt Harveys combined, which suggests that the readers who go there are likely looking for the baseball player.
- Matt Harvey the baseball player (5826 views)
- Matthew Harvey the lawyer (191 views)
- Matt Harvey the poet (153 views)
- Matt T. Harvey the journalist (52 views)
- Total (6222 views)
- The disambiguation page (387 views)
Looking over 90 days, the disparity is even starker. Views for the baseball player make up 95.5% of all views, over 21 times as many as the other three combined, and over 42 times as many as the second-most viewed. Even the disambiguation page has been viewed more than the other three combined (1340 vs. 1132).
- Matt Harvey the baseball player (24348 views)
- Matthew Harvey the lawyer (571 views)
- Matt Harvey the poet (437 views)
- Matt T. Harvey the journalist (124 views)
- Total (25480 views)
- The disambiguation page (1340 views)
Additional support for the idea that viewers of Matt Harvey are looking for Matt Harvey (baseball) can be seen by looking at the view spike on June 23. On that day, views of the disambiguation page jumped from 7 the day before up to 73. Likewise, views of the page for Matt Harvey (baseball) also jumped, from 141 to 616. This spike is not reflected in the other articles though. They all fell – Matthew Harvey from 12 down to 5, Matt Harvey (poet) from 2 down to 1, and Matt T. Harvey from 5 down to 2. A similar spike (disambig and baseball player go up by a lot, the others don't) can also be seen on April 22. Egsan Bacon (talk) 01:18, 19 July 2014 (UTC)
- Support. The pageview statistics provided by the nominator overwhelmingly demonstrate that this article satisfies the usage component of WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, and I'm not aware of a long-term significance counterexample strong enough to put primacy in doubt. — Jaydiem (talk) 02:47, 19 July 2014 (UTC)

Current Harvey headlines.
editIt is certainly notably that MH is going through a media circus right now. It is likely to always be something people note when remembering his career given the volume of attention it's received. What remains of my summary of the situation is in last paragraph the 2015 section. Note that I included USA Today so that it's not just the Daily News/Post "tabloids"; I could also throw in CBSsports but I think it's fine. Anyway, another editor removed my usage of the term "controversy", and also my statement of fact that many fans and writers have voiced unhappiness with MH because of this (I adequately sourced this). If I wrote "Everyone thinks MH is a hypocritical (expletive deleted)" that is tabloid trash or worse, unfit for a BLP. But if I say that NYC baseball talk has been dominated by this controversy at this time that is a neutral statement of fact and should be encyclopedic. Thoughts? - I trimmed what you wrote a little bit, but not too much. This might be overblown to the point where it's not worth mentioning, but time will tell. I do think that some detail is warranted, but we shouldn't get too crazy in the weeds with this story. – Muboshgu (talk) 03:00, 7 September 2015 (UTC)
Matt Harvey has a bladder infection, the Internet laughs
editThis was a bit cruel. Noteworthy? – Muboshgu (talk) 04:52, 1 April 2016 (UTC)
