Bus incident

I've removed some content in regard to a bus incident in 2005. I'm not sure how much weight it should get - it seems to be a relativly minor issue in spite of the claimed press coverage - but two sources were used: ABC and SMH. It might be worth re-adding in the future, but it would, I think, need to take a very different form to what was there. - Bilby (talk) 16:51, 26 August 2010 (UTC)

I recall the incident. The hassle is that there is so little to say - the children were taken to a depot rather than the bus stopping on the street, and then subsequently were taken home, with no charges being laid on the driver. A bit of media fuss for a couple of days, but really nothing worth a lot of weight in the article. - Bilby (talk) 12:47, 27 August 2010 (UTC)

Well, we'd need to keep it short and factual - it's just one incident and I think we'd both agree that the focus of the article should not be on it. The bus incident has been removed again as it is considered to be a trivial item of local news and not part of a basic school description in an encyclopedia. If editors do not support this deletion please note that at Wikipedia we have correct procedures for obtaining consensus, and failing that, we have various departments (WP:EAR, for example) for obtaining editing help and advice. --Kudpung (talk) 07:02, 25 October 2010 (UTC)

The bus incident does nothing for the article which should be a basic, neutral description of the school. Whether the news item received a brief mention in parliament or not, is immaterial, and interest there was in any news media is not durable. Actually on rereading the added bit, I don't think this article is the right place for it. Since it involves the firm Sydney Buses I'd say it more properly belongs there... so I'm pulling out of this article. Tabercil (talk) 00:39, 28 October 2010 (UTC)

Having thought about it, I'd have to agree with you there. It wasn't a school-owned bus, so the driver's actions were outside of their control or responsibility. Given that, it is, I think, an incident that happened on a Sydney Buses vehicle, as opposed to an incident which happened to the school itself. - Bilby (talk) 02:12, 28 October 2010 (UTC)

This is unbelievable Tabercil we had already agreed to leave that part of the article. It doesn't matter if the schools owns the bus or not, it involves the school because the behaviour of some students prompted the drivers actions. Enidblyton11 (talk) 11:17, 29 October 2010 (UTC)

As I said, I took a second look at it and decided the best place for it is not here but elsewhere. The fact that it involves students from the school I think is more tangential, but the focus of the incident is the bus driver.
