Please Offer Some Advice Before Deleting edit

I would appreciate some tips in how to improve this article before it gets deleted as an "advertisement". I have gone through it a couple of times, but it would help if I knew exactly where to edit.--Johnthecoopdude (talk) 15:19, 31 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

As always it is independent reliable sources that any standalone article needs. If there are none, then it may be better merged into the main article. -- zzuuzz (talk) 15:25, 31 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

I have more time to work on this and have added some references from independent reliable sources. I am looking for more. If it were merged, could it be separated out later?--Johnthecoopdude (talk) 00:04, 6 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

I can't see any evidence of notability (by our criteria at WP:NOTABILITY and in particular WP:Notability (organizations and companies)). I think you're going to have to accept this as a short section in the college's article and this title would be a redirect to that as you've obviously been looking for third party sources and not found any that meet our criteria for notability. There is also a lot of original research in the article added by its creator, who is a participant in the program. WP:OR and WP:Verify make it clear that personal experience can't be used in articles. Dougweller (talk) 09:41, 10 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
The MMCCU is certainly notable. As a masters degree, it is distinct from an MBA, like a Master of Science in Management for instance. While the degree is currently only offered at Saint Mary's University (Halifax), it may soon be adopted by other institutions as well, making it inappropriate to merge it into the University's article. A merger was already proposed and there was no consensus for merging. I agree that the original research should be cleared out. Gobonobo T C
Exactly how does it meet our notability criteria? If you can't show notability by our criteria, and a merger is refused, then it needs to go to AfD. Dougweller (talk) 10:13, 10 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
I see two new sources have been added, one a press release, the other by a student on the course. Neither prove notability. Dougweller (talk) 10:37, 10 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
I think that the Rural Cooperatives article amply demonstrates notability. Gobonobo T C 10:45, 10 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
Looks to me as though if that's the best you can do, a minor piece on a government web site 4 years ago, you're showing lack of notability. Dougweller (talk) 10:59, 10 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
