Additional uses

edit

In looking through the "What links here", I see a number of uses that aren't covered:

... and more.

I'm not familiar enough with these to decide what to do with them. Perhaps somebody else can. Jordan Brown 23:07, 31 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Maskuerade?

edit

Someone told me of a book called "Maskuerade" spelling may be a little of but he did say the first part was intentially misspelled "mask". He said it's being made into a film, but I can't find anything here, at Amazon, Booksamillion, or IMDB. I think the author is named "Danny Wallace". Anyone know what he was talking about? --198.85.212.10 (talk) 13:27, 27 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Perhaps you mean Maskerade, the discworld book by Terry Pratchett? I've added it Psychobunny2412 (talk) 18:18, 21 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Why is there a list of Episodes here?

edit

Can anyone explain why having a list of episodes here is any help in disambiguation? Surely all anyone needs is the one link to the Series? In which case, I propose we remove the list as it's fully covered under the Series article already. Chiswick Chap (talk) 17:08, 8 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Those aren't episodes of the TV series Masquerade. They're episodes of other series as specified in the parenthetic qualifiers. And since they are all titled "Masquerade", they should be listed here.--ShelfSkewed Talk 19:45, 8 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
Wow, thanks for telling me. That was one of the most unclear bits of formatting I've seen in a while. Chiswick Chap (talk) 21:57, 8 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
I have to disagree: Episode lists for a particular series are found in the series' article or episode list article, not on a dab page. And the list here is a pretty standard list for a dab page, and I've never had an indication that any other user has found it confusing. In any case, the entries can't be formatted as you have them. Per MOS:DAB, the actual link (direct or redirect) involving the ambiguous term should be displayed. I have restored the previous display, made the section title more transparent (although I still think it's unnecessary), and split film and television into separate sections. --ShelfSkewed Talk 05:00, 9 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Move discussion in progress

edit

There is a move discussion in progress on Talk:The Masquerade (mxmtoon album) which affects this page. Please participate on that page and not in this talk page section. Thank you. —RMCD bot 19:09, 17 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Songs removed

edit

A bunch of songs were removed in a mass deletion on 4 May 2018. The edit summary said "not even bluelinked", but each item did include a bluelink on the line, even if not on the song title itself. This is allowed according to MOS:DABBLUE (see "Maggie Anderson" example there). Some of the songs have been re-added since then. In my opinion, it would be OK to re-add any or all songs that were removed in the mass deletion. -- HLachman (talk) 15:06, 14 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Yes, I've restored the missing entries. Cheers! —ShelfSkewed Talk 16:00, 14 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

This Masquerade

edit

"This Masquerade" (George Benson hit, written by Leon Russell) was added on 17 February 2017. It was removed on 10 December 2021 without explanation. I can only guess it was due to WP:PARTIAL (the song title is a partial match with the title of the disambig page). However, the article still includes various items called "The Masquerade", and "This Masquerade" is similar. Also, WP:PARTIAL applies only "where there is no significant risk of confusion" between the item name and the disambig title name, and that risk exists in this case, as revealed by these google searches (i.e., there are many places where the song is referred to as simply "Masquerade"):

The practical question is whether readers might look here for the song, and the above seems to indicate some likelihood of that (and that appears to be the point of the WP guideline on the matter). Assuming there are no objections, I'll re-add it after waiting a week or so. -- HLachman (talk) 15:59, 14 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

If you re-add it, I'd suggest placing it in the See also section since it isn't, as you note, an exact match, so not quite ambiguous. But up to you. —ShelfSkewed Talk 16:04, 14 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
