Article refinement

edit

I believe Masia is a general term for a farmhouse, not necessarily a specific house type. Mas refers to the entire farm property. I have not researched this and may not have time, so I mention this here. Jim Derby (talk) 13:23, 29 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

You are correct, as supported by the dictionary definitions at http://www.diccionari.cat/lexicx.jsp?GECART=0086596 and http://www.diccionari.cat/lexicx.jsp?GECART=0086534. I'll make the changes. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Timtranslates (talkcontribs) 08:33, 18 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Pluralization

edit

Considering that the term "masia" is basically taken directly from Catalan, the correct plural would be "masies" rather than "masias." (See, for example, the Comarques of Catalonia or sardana articles.) I'm updating the article accordingly. acomas (talk) 16:15, 3 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
