CVR (Cockpit Voice Recorder) Transcript
editIs the full text of the CVR necessary for the article? A few key points may be good for the article, but I don't think we need every single "ja" the crew said... Paris1127 (talk) 04:59, 28 April 2012 (UTC)
Translated
editI finally translated the article. It's a community draft as it's not finished yet: Draft:Martinair_Flight_495 Please help clean up and revise the draft. Tigerdude9 (talk) 03:55, 23 November 2018 (UTC)
- I attempted to make the article look less like directly translated. Pheanixx (talk) 12:02, 19 March 2023 (UTC)
Ground fatality?
editWhere does the ground fatality come from? The only source that says it is this one [1], and it's not even that clear. All it says is "A rescue worker died shortly after the plane crash". Did they die during the rescue? If so, how?
Nothing else I could find makes any mention of the death of a rescue worker. Every other source puts the total fatality count at 56. Does anyone have an explanation for this discrepancy or confirmation of this death? LearyTheSquid (talk) 19:46, 25 April 2020 (UTC)
- Update: According to this site [2], a 57th candle is used in the annual commemoration for an airport worker who helped in the rescue and died in a traffic accident a week later. Good to know, but because they weren't actually killed in the plane crash or during the rescue, I will remove the mentions of a ground fatality in this article. Plagarism / Acknowledgements
editCertain paragraphs are a direct 'lift' from the following publication: https://www.hg.org/legal-articles/dutch-aviation-council-acted-negligently-and-unlawfully-in-1992-faro-plane-crash-54374
namely, under the heading "2011 research and lawsuits"
I'm not sure that the information can be included by rewording, so perhaps leave it in, but acknowledge the source.
Also, I struggled to find an alternate way to describe the following sentence in Para 3, in particular the use of the word, 'served'.
"The case against Martinair, which had, in the meantime, become part of KLM, finally served on 13 January 2014 in Amsterdam."Pheanixx (talk) 12:01, 19 March 2023 (UTC)
