A non-exhaustive list of comments regarding the prose, follows:

  • "Ødegaard, who played for Strømsgodset's junior team and the club's third team, began training with the Strømsgodset first team in 2012, aged 13, making his first team debut in a pre-season friendly against local rivals Mjøndalen IF." What about two sentences here, in chronological order?
    • Done. Split into two sentences, and added a source. Corrected facts - wasn't a pre-season friendly, but one in June (mid-season). Cashewnøtt (talk) 09:29, 9 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • "In January 2014, it was agreed that Ødegaard would be part of Strømsgodset's first team in 2014, but no contract was signed." of what significance is this verbal agreement?
    • Added sourced explanation of the significance of this, which has to do with competition rules. Cashewnøtt (talk) 09:29, 9 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • "As part of the agreement, he trains two evenings a week with Mjøndalen, where his father is one of the coaches.[5]" appears to be outdated
  • "He completed his official league debut for Strømsgodset in a match against Aalesunds FK at Marienlyst Stadion on 13 April 2014." what is an official league debut? 'made' not 'completed'
  • "He signed a professional contract for 2014 and 2015 with Strømsgodset on 5 May 2014.[7]" seasons? years? until 2015?
    • Done (seasons and years are often used interchangably in Norway, as the seasons run spring-fall). Cashewnøtt (talk) 09:29, 9 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • "On 16 May 2014, he scored the fourth goal for Strømsgodset in a 4–1 home victory against Sarpsborg 08 FF making him the youngest person to score a goal in Tippeligaen.[6]" I can see two important things here, his first goal and becoming the youngest to score in the league, but the sentence asserts the fact it was the fourth goal of the match as the most important
  • "His major breakthrough happened with the away match against Sandnes Ulf, in late July, where he was involved in all three goals of his team, scoring one and having one assist. He was also fouled for a penalty, which was missed by Thomas Sørum. After the match, media were discussing his possible debut on the Norwegian national team." general prose issues
  • "Local Norwegian media" local or national, or just 'Norwegian'?
  • "reports, however, that the fee is €4 million" present or past?
  • "Since signing, Ødegaard trains with the club's first team, but is registered to play for its reserves, managed by Zinedine Zidane." has trained, suggest explicitly including the name of the [reserve] team
  • "After this, he was named" suggest 'He was subsequently named'
  • Another sentence or two about the under-17 would be better than the current single sentence. Which games did he play in, for example?
    • Done. Added information about all of his under-xx matches for Norway. Cashewnøtt (talk) 09:29, 9 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • "On 19 August 2014, he was called up" Ødegaard was called up
  • "The record was previously held since 1910 by Tormod Kjellsen, who was 15 years and 351 days on his debut.[28]" prose
  • "has since completed the compulsory education in Norway" why does 'compulsory education in Norway' link to the article it does? the education or his education?

C679 12:06, 5 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

    • Removed link. I think it was originally meant as a sort of reference for the claim. Cashewnøtt (talk) 09:29, 9 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • Further content issues (up to the end of club career): "23 appearances" is apparently league only, should be specified. "Drammen Strong" is listed in the infobox but nowhere in the body of the article.
    • Done. Wrote about his early years in Drammen Strong and its significance for Ødegaard. Cashewnøtt (talk) 09:29, 9 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • "Aged 15 years and 117 days, he became the youngest footballer ever to play in Tippeligaen.[5]" I don't read Norwegian but couldn't find "117" at fn5. fn6 seems to list this as 118 days
  • fn18 doesn't support the text
    • Couldn't find a source on his **training** with Arsenal, but the Norwegian source I added says he visited them (and it also says that the training Daily Mail talks about never happened).Cashewnøtt (talk) 09:29, 9 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • "Local Norwegian media reports, however, that the fee is €4 million, which could rise to €8-8.5 million on certain conditions.[20]" no mention of euros or those figures at the link, use the native currency and provide an equivalent. C679 19:56, 5 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • "despite being named man of the match and earning praise from Portugal coach Rui Jorge.[26]" not in citation. C679 06:20, 6 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • "becoming the youngest player to play for Norway at senior level, at 15 years and 253 days.[28][29]" can you find a better reference than DM and German-language?
  • "Pedersen also stated that Ødegaard needed time to build up his physique.[25]" this comment would benefit from a little more context (when did he say this?)
  • "He is known to be a supporter of English club Liverpool.[35]" who knows him to be so? Just the DM? Can you find more reliable sources for the other DM refs, too? C679 06:41, 6 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • Further comments:
  • "who plays as an attacking midfielder for Spanish club Real Madrid and the Norway national team." This is the opening line and it is somewhat of a misnomer, as he doesn't actually play for Real Madrid
    • Done. Changed current team, and added some explanation in the top section. Cashewnøtt (talk) 21:23, 9 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • "the youngest player to feature in a qualifier" qualifying match
  • "50,000 kroner (€6,750)" but in the same para "250,000 kroner, equivalent to approximately €29,000" - would seem to be different exchange rates?
  • "he impressed during an nationwide tournament" - a nationwide tournament, but also who did he impress?
    • Good point. The original source didn't specify. I found a different source to back up this claim, citing former Tippeligaen club manager Lars Tjærnås. Cashewnøtt (talk) 20:48, 9 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • The first mention of "Strømsgodset" is not linked, but the second one is
  • "rules state that for play in Tippeligaen" to play
  • "compulsory school" or compulsory education?
  • "netted the fourth goal"
    • Done. Used "made the fourth goal", since "score/scored" was used in the same sentence already. Hope that's okay. Cashewnøtt (talk) 21:17, 9 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
      • Note that this changes the previous meaning. Made the goal is often used for players providing the final pass, or other crucial play before the goal itself. C679 21:22, 9 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • "an impressive away match" seems a little POV, can you attribute this?
    • Done. While I think the statistics speak for themselves, I have rewritten it with quotes from Riise and Semb. Cashewnøtt (talk) 21:17, 9 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • "prompted serious discussion in media" which media?
  • Real Madrid.[24] failed verification
    • Done. Don't know how that one got included. Substituted with actual source. Cashewnøtt (talk) 21:53, 9 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
      • I'm reading it through Google Translate but can't see that he was there in December as the Wikipedia article states, but January. C679 08:16, 10 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
        • Right. Fixed that. I think he was there in December too, but couldn't find anything but rumours. Cashewnøtt (talk) 08:50, 10 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

  • "Norwegian media reports, however, that the fee was 35 million kroner" noted this before, is it present or past (reported)?
  • "(eq. €4 million)" I don't think that is a standard abbreviation
  • "Since signing, Ødegaard has trained with the club's first team, but is registered to play for its reserves Real Madrid Castilla, managed by Zinedine Zidane.[28]" potentially dated language
  • Done. Cashewnøtt (talk) 21:53, 9 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • "Both matches were won." - Norway won both matches?
  • dashes in the scorelines are inconsistent
    • Done. I blame tAD, who inconsistently fixed my errors. Cashewnøtt (talk) 21:53, 9 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • "selected for Norway Under-21" but other youth teams all introduced as "Norway national under-..."
    • Done.
  • "On 19 August 2014, he was called up" use surname
  • I don't know what value his father's description of his abilities are to the article.
    • Please explain how this is neutral information. C679 09:03, 10 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
      • The father, as his former coach, is equally as joined to the subject as a teammate like Pedersen. If the father's opinion goes, Pedersen's must go as well. Maybe we should balance it with completely third-party reports '''tAD''' (talk) 18:36, 10 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
        • I don't think it has to go, but I would like to see more balance, considering the circumstances. C679 18:59, 10 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
          • I've added his Stromsgodset manager, a top Norwegian agent and a former international/current pundit. I think the balance is at least getting there now. '''tAD''' (talk) 19:02, 10 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • "completed the compulsory education" - outstanding from before, the education or his education?
  • Stats note last updated 9 November 2014 but include a match in the Segunda B, and the supporting citations are dated July 2014. The infobox agrees with the stats but is dated 8 Feb 2015 C679 16:50, 9 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • This article has gone through quite a change since I started it. All issues appear to be in order, but I am going to have another read-through at some point, before closing the review, just to be sure. C679 11:58, 12 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • Final run-through, article is almost ready to pass. Please address the following:
    • "Shouldn't" should be "should not"
    • "Ødegaard was assigned the number 21, left vacant after Álvaro Morata's transfer to Juventus.[2]" second half is not supported by the citation, and seemingly unnecessary.
    • "Pedersen also stated that Ødegaard needed time to build up his physique.[46]" very close wording to the source

  • Closing the review. Now meets the criteria. Good job and great collaborative editing, you two. C679 22:09, 14 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
