Cleanup Tag edit

I put up the 'cleanup-school' tag because I think the article needs wikification and a change in content. The text is supposedly taken from the school's homepage and sounds like an advert while it doesn't give the basic information necessary in an encyclopedic article. Kiwiki 13:49, August 12, 2005 (UTC)

I replaced the contents as they had simply been cut and pasted from the schools web site. The article did not even state where the school is located. Gracee 15:10, 15 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

I tidied up the article. There were several spelling errors in the previous entry and most of it was pulled from the school's website.--splashmo 07:33, 17 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

The page still reads somewhat like an advert for the school. I'm a student and I'll be attempting to better the content here. Let me know on anything specific you'd like to see. --Bkingshott 13:42, 24 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

I think the unsourced rumour about the teacher's comment should be removed.Blnguyen 00:02, 25 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

I personally witnessed these comments by the teacher in question. I didn't, however, wish to include his name as it may cause trouble within the school. I am new to editiing, so if it's inappropriate I'll remove it. --Bkingshott 05:17, 25 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

The edits made by 203.113.239.107 and later removed by Can't sleep, clown will eat me, as I can discern involved only adding that the Forge is unattractive. This, even from a neutral point of view, I believe to be quite fair. I would apprecite it if Can't sleep, clown will eat me would inform me of any other reasons for removing the edit. --Bkingshott 23:21, 2 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

I'm an ex student. The page is still a giant advertisement. MHS as usual is riding on the back of its music department to advertise it. Someone should properly update the wiki - rather than just adding, for example, what Big Band has won this particular day.

this is a spot on comment. marryatville is just another average public school that seems to believe running a music programme most of the school does not participate in or care about makes it better somehow.

Some citations done now it's unlocked for addition when unlocked: http://www.abc.net.au/classic/choiroftheyear/ and http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/entertainment/arts/winning-voices/story-e6frees3-1111113404739 & http://www.kooriyhing.ee/pictures/Tulemused.doc Stefann (talk) 14:41, 3 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Where did people go? edit

I came to the music program in 1997 from a school in Sweden and only attended the school for a year. Does anyone know if there is a community for former students less cumbersome than the one referred to on the MHS site? (I realize this comment is irrelevant, but I wouldn't trust the school itself to supply me with any good information)

Vandalism edit

My notes re: Vandalism in the school were removed by 58.110.17.14 (an IP address resolving to OptusNet in Adelaide. I have returned them to the page. Given the lack of a username or comment I am somewhat inclined to suspect that it was someone from the school who did not wish for this information to become public knowledge. Oh well. Bkingshott 00:36, 15 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

This section on vandalism appears to have gone again. I wonder what it was about? Owen :-P 13:15, 3 August 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Djapa84 (talkcontribs)

Where did people go? edit

To the Swedish guy try looking at myspace to find former marryavtille students you may have some hope. Truthfully, the forge is notably a rather odd looking and pseudo-artistic building and is often referred to as an overstylised deformed spaceship. Additionally the notable alumni aren't particularly notable.

You did not sign the comment "the notable alumni aren't particularly notable". They are not bad for an ordinary suburban government school in little Adelaide. Owen :-P 13:09, 29 September 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Djapa84 (talkcontribs)

Fair use rationale for Image:MarryatvilleHighLogo.gif edit

Image:MarryatvilleHighLogo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

I have a copy of the version of the school logo that I did in year 11 - Siepolt threatened to expel for that one. I am willing to contribute that one if you like. I suspect Siepolt and MacArthur would not approve. Owen 13:08, 30 September 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Djapa84 (talkcontribs)

/* Notable Staff/Alumni */ edit

I have added Imogen Annesley to the notable Alumni. I know she went to Marryatville for a while as I knew her then, and I can confirm that this was the same Imogen as in Playing Beatie Bow. I also know there were a few others from the performing arts stream in the eighties who did well in the Australian film industry and music industry (other than the Christian music niche market - no offence). If anyone knows other examples please add them. Cheers. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Djapa84 (talkcontribs) 12:14, 24 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

13:35, 5 October 2010 YellowMonkey removed the unidentified people from this section stating 'notable means notable for a wikibio; how are these guys qualified?'. I concur, although I added Kate Castine. Djapa Owen 06:08, 5 October 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Djapa84 (talkcontribs)

Two more for addition: Naomi Crellin & Sally Cameron[1][2] from The Idea of North Stefann (talk) 14:25, 3 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thanks! I've added them to the list. :) - Bilby (talk) 14:41, 3 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
