Digital Songs (Billboard)

edit

Debut at no.#57 of Billboard Digital Songs [I can't find the link but if you click here Marry The Night charted on the Hot 100 and then you click on "Marry The Night", in the section "Also Charted On" you can see "#57 Digital Songs"] --Emish94 (talk) 12:50, 4 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hot Digital Songs is a component chart of the Billboard Hot 100. We don't add component charts when a song has charted on its principal chart. — Legolas (talk2me) 15:59, 4 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
OK! Understood it :) --Emish94 (talk) 21:11, 6 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Release date

edit

The song premiered on FarmVille on May 17, 2011 as promotion. Should this be considered the official release date of the song? Or is it the purchase date, May 23? Thanks. WIKIPEDIAN Penguin (♫♫) 18:42, 13 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Credits

edit

The digital credits and the physical credits say different things for where the song was mixed, and who mixed, recorded it, etc. Which should be used? Gaga690 (talk) 17:12, 27 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Physical, there have been numerous instances when iTunes or Amazon have fucked up credits, recent being Gaga and Adele's album. — Legolas (talk2me) 17:14, 27 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Sales in S. Corea?

edit

Here says "The song has sold 627,855 digital copies on the country"... so, Gaon Chart says MTN sold 392,229 copies (also says 2,246,007 and 1,887,008, but i don't think the songs sold that copies)... You can add something? --NicolásTM (talk) 14:58, 31 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

I think the 1 million sales is total bullshit though. — Legolas (talk2me) 16:53, 31 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
The Digital chart includes " downloads, ringtone sales, background music sales and streaming". So, I think the number shows some point/index or sum of all the above things, not sales alone. Novice7 (talk) 04:18, 1 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

UK single, but US?

edit

In this link, Billboard conffirmed that MTN is the next single in UK, but the label say: "Marry the Night" is definitely the next single in the U.K. We're undecided about here in the U.S".--NicolásTM (talk) 14:59, 1 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

About GA...

edit

Now that it's a single, don't you think that it's GA status should be revoked? Certainly there are going to be a lot more things that will come into place now that's it's getting an official release. Personally, I think there should be a standard on a certain amount of time when you can nominate a song or promotional single article so things like this don't happen. There's always a chance it can become an official single. Thoughts? — Status {talkcontribs 03:03, 18 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

It certainly fails the Stability criterion, but I still believe that a proper assessment should determine the fate of this article's GA status. And I agree, too many song articles are prematurely nominated for GA. —WP:PENGUIN · [ TALK ] 18:40, 18 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
As long as it is well-maintained (and i am sure it will be), the article can remain as a GA, in my opinion. ★Jivesh 1205★ (talk / ♫♫Give 4 a try!!!♫♫) 16:08, 7 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
And I'm back. I will definitely not let this single falter from its quality. :D — Legolas (talk2me) 16:10, 7 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
I am sure of it. ★Jivesh 1205★ (talk / ♫♫Give 4 a try!!!♫♫) 16:38, 7 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

UK Peak

edit

Marry the Night did not peak at 98, so why does it say so in the table? it peaked well outside of the top 100. I would change it myself but dont know the exact number.... it was around 112 i think. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.219.90.7 (talk) 21:42, 7 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Wait, source is the video. You only have to hear it to know it's Beethoven. Srsly.--Dollystyle (talk) 18:17, 11 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
[1] This is in case you are super picky about this, but it's like asking someone to get a source to make sure Jay-Z really sampled Annie in Hard-Knock Life.--Dollystyle (talk) 18:23, 11 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
Can somebody add it?? I think it's quite relevant, at least more than the Stéphane Rolland outfit... It's the Piano Sonata No. 8 (Beethoven), I don't think it's necessary to have even a source for this but anyway this tweet by Gaga should be OK.--94.36.31.160 (talk) 01:39, 9 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
I tried to add it [here]. Unfortunately, Wikipedian Penguin undid it ignoring that the artist has quite a remarkable piano education and includes (sometimes in a not entirely obvious way) famous masterpieces in her own work. This is not the first one. A chat with Wikipedian Penguin did not help. Vvrq (talk) 17:06, 1 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
Vvrq, WP has explained to you in his talk page that such an addition needs a reliable source, and you didn't provide it, neither you took the onus to find one. And bullshit sources like Twitter are unacceptable. So, next time find a source saying that its a Beethoven piece playing in the background, and we will add it. — Legolas (talk2me) 03:06, 2 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
Legolas, please reread the other chat: I did search for references. And found only one - apparently not considered a reliable one. And I went through *all* of the 100+ references to see if there is some mentioning. But there was none. At least I was able to see the redundancy of all those references. How they the result of a few "leaks". Try to see it that way: On the one hand, a reference to 8-track cassettes - a shortlived, defunct technology of the 1960s is added without giving a "reliable source". On the other hand, a reference to an artwork that is actively and continuously received and interpreted for more than two centuries needs a "reliable source". — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vvrq (talkcontribs) 23:41, 2 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
Here is to hoping this edit is satisfactory. It took some time to find a highly reputable source, but this--New York magazine--should be OK. I failed to find a reference that specifies that it is the first movement however. —WP:PENGUIN · [ TALK ] 00:26, 3 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Cassette??

She doesn't insert a cassette into the Trans-Am, it's an 8-Track.--Dollystyle (talk) 19:06, 11 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Also the Trans Am started having a sun roof around 74-75, so it makes sense for the 8-track. She probably has a newer version, but technicalities and whatnot.--Dollystyle (talk) 19:13, 11 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
