changing the lead edit

I'd like to change the lead to (a) change "will legalise same-sex marriage in the country" to "will recognise same-sex marriage in the country" (same sex marriages have been legal forever, just not legally recognised) and (b) move the link to Same-sex marriage in New Zealand up from where it's languishing in the See Also section. Thoughts? Stuartyeates (talk) 10:02, 28 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Oppose Current version of the lead is good. "Same sex marriages have been legal forever, just not legally recognised" is absurd claim. Ron 1987 (talk) 10:40, 28 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
Really? I'm talking about the difference between Marriage and Civil marriage. Stuartyeates (talk) 22:52, 28 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
Homosexuality was criminalised in New Zealand until 1986, so same-sex marriage could not be legal "forever". Ron 1987 (talk) 00:18, 29 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
Homosexuality was not criminalised in New Zealand until 1986, sodomy was. Stuartyeates (talk) 00:45, 29 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Perhaps, "will allow same-sex couples to legally marry" would be a good solution. Ron 1987 (talk) 03:02, 29 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

I can live with that. Stuartyeates (talk) 03:32, 29 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Submissions edit

Is there a website which states how many submissions there were for other Bills and Acts in New Zealand? I noticed you have a count here and it would be helpful to me, thanks! :) 130.195.253.12 (talk) 03:22, 27 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
