editIn a May 1, 2024, video, oncologist Dr. Mark Scholz said (to Mark A. Moyad, MD, MPH) that his birthday is May 1, 1955. These two doctors were discussing the utility of germline genetic tests, also known as a genetic tests, a type of DNA test that looks for inherited mutations in a person's cells. These mutations are present in every cell of the body from birth and can be passed from parent to child. Germline tests can be performed using a blood sample, cheek swab, or spit sample.
