– I don't think that the producer quite makes the cut for the clear primary topic of this name, which has a surprising number of other inhabitants, particularly if the identically pronounced variation "Marc" is added into the mix. I would move this page to a disambiguated title, and move the current disambiguation page from Marc Rosenberg to Mark Rosenberg (noting also that there are more entries spelled with a "k", and that includes the most developed and most viewed topics). • Oppose At least barring more compelling evidence there is not a primary topic. Looking at page views among Mark Rosenberg's (I took view stats from the summer, since there is a Mark Rosenberg in the news right now for resigning that is inflating recent numbers), the subject in question is receiving over 90 percent of page views, and nearly 20 times the next closest Mark. (striking the stats pending a closer look at the numbers/timeframe) While it is certainly reasonable to include names like Marc or Marcus on the same dab page, they don't really factor into determining a primary topic unless "Mark Rosenberg" is a commonly used name in reliable sources.--Yaksar (let's chat) 23:23, 26 January 2022 (UTC)
  • @Yaksar: I am confused as to what data set you are using, because a long-term examination of page views do not return the results you claim. It appears that you have cherry-picked a single anomolous spike in page views for one subject. I will assume in good faith that you did this accidentally. BD2412 T 00:06, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
    • I just went to a different timeframe six months ago to avoid the page view impact one of the other subjects being in the news right now. Will have a closer look when I can (although in general I find sampling from recent months more helpful than looking at views over the entire page history, since that doesn't account for recent trends, newer articles, etc).--Yaksar (let's chat) 00:14, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
      • Looking at a different time frame is fine, but looking at the one month in the history of all of these articles in which this one had a spike in viewership, that is very bad luck. Also, please include Markus Rosenberg in your calculations, as sources provided below indicate that he is also referred to as "Mark". BD2412 T 00:24, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
• Oppose (at least for now). Looking at recent pageviews shows Mark Rosenberg to be a clear primary topic except for the fact that Mark B. Rosenberg has a tremendous spike due to his resignation last week. This appears to be a case of recentism and I suspect his pageviews will shortly return to their previous levels.   • @Station1: I looked into what caused that big spike for "Mark Rosenberg" in July of 2021. There was no news about the producer, but it turns out that there are at least two probably notable people by the name who we are missing from the encyclopedia, and who were in the news that month. One was Dr. Mark Rosenberg, president of the American College of Emergency Physicians, who was addressing the COVID-19 Delta variant, and the other was Rabbi Mark Rosenberg, who was leading the effort to provide spiritual comfort to families of victims of the Surfside condominium collapse. Until I consolidated the disambiguation terms yesterday, anyone searching for any of these other people named "Mark Rosenberg" would have come to a dead end at this page. In such a circumstance, the page views are not indicative of the importance of this article subject, who appears to be at this title out of inertia rather than merit.     • Certainly the July 2021 spike needs to be totally discounted, but even so it appears that this Mark Rosenberg gets a clear majority of pageviews. If an article about the doctor or rabbi or both were to be written, that might change things in the future. I'm afraid I don't understand why readers looking for the other Mark Rosenbergs would have come to a dead end; it looks like there has been a hatnote on this article for quite a while.       • Previously the hatnote pointed to three specific other Mark Rosenbergs, and people named Mark; if you came here looking for any Mark Rosenberg other than those three, you have no place to go from here. Also, on further examination, the footballer Markus Rosenberg (whose page views dwarf those of the producer) is also often referred to in sources as "Mark Rosenberg" (e.g., "Odemwingie was brought in, in the 76th minute, for Mark Rosenberg"; "People say to me Mark Rosenberg is the type we should have gone for"; "we make it 4-0 and are confident in this game, says Mark Rosenberg").         • It looks like Markus Rosenberg gets only about 2/3 the views of producer Mark Rosenberg, and I doubt many readers search for him as Mark rather than Markus. "Mark" is not mentioned even once in his article. He's certainly worth keeping on the dab page, but I don't think it affects the primary topic calculation.           • For the period from July 1, 2015 to today, "Markus Rosenberg" has received 321,421 views, and "Mark Rosenberg" has received 127,359 views. I'm pretty sure that 321,421 is not 2/3 of 127,359, and I believe we have already agreed that the numbers for "Mark Rosenberg" do not reflect searches solely for the producer. Alternative proposal. If there is no consensus on this move proposal, then let's temporarily move the pages for 90 days as an experiment to see whether that shows actual page views for the short-lived producer at a disambiguated title. BD2412 T 05:35, 31 January 2022 (UTC)

• Support per nomination. There are eight men listed upon the Markus/Mark/Marc Rosenberg disambiguation page, with four of those named "Mark". Furthermore, it does not appear that the renown of the film producer, who died 30 years ago, remains at such a high level that it overshadows the combined notability of the three other men named "Mark Rosenberg". Moreover, since four of the eight men are named "Mark", three are "Marc" and one is "Markus", it would seem that the proposal to move the dab page main title header from "Marc Rosenberg" to "Mark Rosenberg" is an intuitive one. —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 03:34, 22 February 2022 (UTC)
