Notability

edit

I stumbled upon this article, and after reading the article, I fail to see how Bear Don't Walk meets WP:NOTE. Her name does appear in simple google searches, but nothing substantial; I haven't been able to find any awards or anything that would make her stand out from other individuals. She is a Native American and has advocated for policy, but those points alone do not mark an individual as notable. She earned a reputation, but I just don't see anything of substance. To me this appears to be an activist who was on a national board, led a healthcare initiative organization, and is the spouse of an individual who founded a Native American court (if anything, he should have an article written about him). TL:DR, I fail to see how she is a notable individual. PerpetuityGrat (talk) 18:08, 29 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

PerpetuityGrat Sources for women, and particularly sources for under-represented groups, are unlikely to be found in mainstream media or through a simple Google search. Bear Don't Walk, IMO clearly meets notability for her initiative to establish Native American health centers in urban areas and being selected as a delegate to the 1977 National Women's Conference. Those may seem insignificant to you, but in terms of Native American history and women's history in the United states, they are significant. SusunW (talk) 19:45, 29 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
