Not Victorian of the Year in 2011

edit

The article has been edited to say Cheng was Young Vicotrian of the Year in 2011. As this, this and especially this definitely prove, Amit Menghani won that award and Cheng did not. I am assuming an editor has a newspaper article that is incorrect, but can they please double check, because i think an error is being introduced to the article. Based on the Victoria Day source (which should be regarded as definitive), I am again reverting.hamiltonstone (talk) 23:22, 27 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

It's just a preposition problem. She was named YVotY in 2011 for 2012.— alf laylah wa laylah (talk) 23:25, 27 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
I take your point, but that turns out not to be the case. There are two separate award systems: Australian of the Year, for which each state puts forward a nominee, and Cheng was Victoria's nominee in the Young category; then there are the State awards of Victorian of the Year, in which Cheng never figured. I've fixed this. hamiltonstone (talk) 23:31, 27 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
Ah, OK. I just edit-conflicted with you suggesting the same thing as a possibility. I'm glad you sorted it out.— alf laylah wa laylah (talk) 23:33, 27 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
