Move Thames Division → Marine Support Unit, as that's what it's been since 2001. Sapient 14:03, 1 April 2006 (UTC)

• Oppose. Yes it is now the Marine Support Unit, but the name "Thames Division" is far better known and most people interested in the subject are likely to put that into the search box. Does four years with a new name cancel out 162 years of history under the old name? In addition, Marine Support Unit is a generic name that could feasibly be used by any police unit anywhere, whereas Thames Division is very specific. -- Necrothesp 16:19, 1 April 2006 (UTC)

Work at Height

"The Rope Access Team are the only emergency service personnel in London trained to carry out rescues at height" This is no longer true as the London Fire Brigade's 16 Fire Rescue Units now carry personnell trained in line rescue, including some specialist units carrying firefighters trained in higher level 2 and level 3 rescue. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.106.73.196 (talk) 16:50, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

Hi MaybeItsBecauseImALondoner you merged the Thames River Police article on a law enforcement agency to this article on a unit of the Metropolitan Police Service. The Thames River Police deserves its own article. The article covered the period 1798 to 1839. Whereas this article covers the period post 1839.--Melbguy05 (talk) 07:49, 26 January 2021 (UTC)
