Possibly useful ref re crowdfunding?

edit

This article was published today (I have no connection, just a long-standing Marillion fan!)

http://www.virgin.com/music/how-marillion-pioneered-crowdfunding-in-music

The article not only hints that Marillion effectively invented crowdfunding, but that this will be one of their greatest legacies.

With that in mind, perhaps there should be a section of the article highlighting this important aspect of the band?

Rachel Cooke

Does she really deserve the attention in this article? What's the point in including a sentence about a writer insulting a band's fans?

Also, I looked at the archives and it's funny to see somebody being torn down for comparing latter-day Marillion to Radiohead and Muse... Jules TH 16 (talk) 21:57, 23 March 2021 (UTC) 21:57, 23 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned references in Marillion

edit

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Marillion's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "UKchart":

  • From Genesis (band): "GENESIS". Official Charts. Retrieved 20 September 2015.
  • From The Dream of the Blue Turtles: "The Official Charts Company – Sting – The Dream of the Blue Turtles" (PHP). Official Charts Company. Retrieved 2011-10-21.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 08:38, 9 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Original lead singer

Fish was not the original lead singer, Doug Irvine was. LeapUK (talk) 17:36, 15 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
